What Role Does Nonviolence Play in the Face of Rising Authoritarianism?

The objective of this virtual roundtable is to foster collective reflection on the relevance and forms nonviolence can take in a context of rising authoritarianism. It will focus on nonviolence as a strategy of social and political resistance in times of authoritarianism and will address issues related to repression, collective resilience, civil disobedience, and nonviolence as a means of action in a context where many citizens feel powerless. It aims to raise awareness, educate, and create a space for critical and engaged dialogue.
It will bring together several speakers from activist, academic, and community backgrounds.

Program:
– 6:00 PM–6:45 PM: Guided discussion between speakers
– 6:45 PM–7:00 PM: Audience question and comment period.
