The World Social Forum: International Youth Share Their Learnings
This activity acts as a link between this year’s World Social Forum in Cotonou and the World Social Forum on Intersections held in Tio’tia:ké (Montreal) in 2025. The objective is to create a direct bridge between global experiences and local action in Quebec.
This dinner-discussion aims to share learnings from the World Social Forum through the presence of a youth collective. A group of young people who attended the Forum will share the key lessons from this international meeting and present the emerging dynamics of global civil society. The event seeks to mobilize Quebec's civil society around concrete local actions, transforming international momentum into sustainable solidarity commitments here. As such, it will address the civic participation of young people as a driver of peace, exploring how the strategies from the Cotonou World Social Forum can be adapted locally in Quebec, and fostering intergenerational dialog to build concrete actions linking local struggles with global issues.
Schedule:
-Live presentation: Direct testimonies from the youth regarding social innovations and peace strategies observed in Cotonou.
-Interactive talk: Exchanges with participants from Quebec's civil society to adapt these learnings to our local realities.
-Co-construction: A collaborative workshop to identify concrete and solidarity-based actions, strengthening local impact while resonating with global issues.
Whether you are a civil society actor, a member of a community organization, or simply an engaged citizen, come help transform international momentum into vibrant forces for peace and social justice here in Quebec.
