Peace Pipe Ritual

Coordinated by Yordanka Ramos, the Peace Pipe Ritual is a symbolic opening ceremony that invites participants to begin the gathering in a spirit of respect, listening, and mutual recognition.
Inspired by the traditions of North American First Nations, this ritual is not presented as a religious or ceremonial reenactment, but as a respectful tribute to the universal values of peace, dialogue, reconciliation, and community building.
During the ceremony, a representative or tradition keeper from an Indigenous community will explain the cultural significance of the Peace Pipe and lead a moment of collective reflection. The goal is to remind us that all meaningful collaboration begins with a willingness to listen to one another, to acknowledge our differences, and to seek out what unites us.
More than a symbolic gesture, this is an invitation to each participant to commit to peace, respect, and collaboration as the fundamental values guiding our actions, both during the gathering and beyond.
