Breaking the Silence: When Lack of Decision-Making Becomes Abuse in Long-Term Care Facilities

This webinar aims to give a voice to residents and caregivers in Quebec's long-term care facilities, who are too often absent from the decision-making processes that concern them and are insufficiently heard when decisions affecting their lives are made. A study has also shown that their exclusion from decision-making can lead to situations of abuse. This exclusion, deeply rooted in the organization of CHSLDs, constitutes a concerning reality that the webinar aims to highlight, while inviting reflection on solutions to address it.
