Members of non-violence related organizations/French/Free/No registration required

Since May 2023, the Centre de ressources sur la non-violence (CRNV) has been looking for innovative programs in primary violence prevention, that is, preventing before incidences occur. However, after a few months of research we received very few references to this type of program in Québec. The majority of prevention initiatives appear to be more ad hoc, or are downstream, taking place during interventions and working to ensure that the situation ceases or does not recur.

That said, the CRNV inviting you to help out. First, you can contribute to the research project. Our participants’ resources will help to distinguish initiatives by primary, secondary and tertiary prevention approaches to situations of violence. As a second objective, our event will invite you to identify the types of prevention approach targeted by your organizations.
Finally, the event is an invitation to jointly identify programs for the primary prevention of community violence in Quebec. Early detection, preventive accompaniment and appropriate intervention approaches are essential to the success of community peace initiatives.
