Theatre of the Oppressed Discovery Activities
The Theatre of the Oppressed is a theatre methodology, created by Brazilian Augusto Boal, that seeks social change. The goal is to introduce tools for popular education and dialogue through theatre. We create a space for collective reflection around the resolution of real conflicts caused by ideological differences. We will address vivre-ensemble, social polarization, and conflict resolution. On the program:
– 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm, Introductory workshop: Actively experiment through games and exercises, and experience their creative, social, and educational potential.
– 5 pm: Performance entitled, "Can We Talk to Each Other Differently?": Come experience forum theatre, a participatory model for seeking alternatives to difficult situations together. "Can We Talk to Each Other Differently?" is a performance about neighborhood issues and clashes of values. The presentation will be followed by a formal and informal discussion session. This event is also part of the Journées de la Culture.
