SUMMARY:How Do You Play with Earth?
DESCRIPTION:Open to all/English/Free\nThe “How Do You Play with Earth” is an interdisciplinary art exhibit that will engage viewers and participants to think more profoundly about our connection to the land through various art installations and performances. Formerly known as the Stewart Museum, the event will be held at the Île-Sainte-Hélène Fort which was built in 1820-1824 by the British and served as arsenal and a storage facility for weapons and equipment. With September 30 understood as Truth and Reconciliation Day, and immersed in this symbolic site, you will be encouraged to think about what your responsibility is to the land as a non-Indigenous person and how you can become a better ally to the environment around you. \nThe exhibit is co-curated by Coco Mariano and Leighetta (Lee) Kim and brought to you by Growing A.R.C. and Sustainable Concordia. Growing A.R.C. is a non-profit organization that aims to increase biodiversity and strengthen links with natural resources. Its goal is to be a playground to Activate, Reciprocate, & Cultivate relationships with all beings.\nSustainable Concordia uses its position at Concordia to advocate in solidarity with local and global movements by being a resource, service, educational and direct-action hub for students and the wider Concordia community looking to organize in an intersectional and sustainable way.\nInformation: growingarc@gmail.com\n
